Yes. This is an offender’s mugshot, from the HHT’s archive of the Justice & Police Museum, back in the days where pho­tog­ra­phy was a labour, and cost inten­sive process, so much that peo­ple did not take things for granted.

Curated by Caleb Williams, Curator at the Justice and Police Museum in Sydney, with the col­lab­o­ra­tion of nov­el­ist Peter Doyle, this trea­sure is pub­lished on a 239-page book: City of Shadows: Sydney Police Photographs 1912–1948.
